    • BMW F80 M3 with JB4 vs. Ferrari 458 Spider roll on

BMS (Burger Tuning) sells a lot of JB4 tunes in the BMW turbo world. Why? Because they are affordable and they work as advertised. Just look at how a JB4 transforms this BMW F80 M3 into a highway terror capable of taking down a Ferrari 458 Italia.

In the Ferrari's defense it is naturally aspirated. It also has a passenger. Also, it does not matter if it loses a race to an M4 or any other BMW for that matter. It is the superior vehicle with the superior driving experience and superior motor (just give it a little boost) for that matter.

That said, modern BMW M cars are very easy to extract power out of and surprise people with. The video below is proof of that.

Is it sad that I already expect the Ferrari to lose because itís a Spyder? I canít take convertibles seriously.

While I agree 99% of Ferrari owners will not care, it has to suck losing to a BMW with like 1k in mods, assuming you are an enthusiast.

It's a product of forced induction vs. natural aspiration more than anything else.

The Ferrari motor is vastly superior.

        What is that cost?

I agree you have to pay to play but the BMW still ends up a better bang for the HP.

Nobody buys a Ferrari because it is a bargain.

Status symbol. Still if you are an enthusiast it sucks to lose to a measly m3 which is basically stock.

        488 GTB isn't losing.

The Speciale is and around the track where it was designed to dominate.

This 335 mentality of being as fast as something in a straight line meaning the car is as good is idiotic.

Right and the 335i dominates many cars on the street bang for your buck. Both have their place. A 335i is a good car.

I would bet a higher percentage of bmw owners track their cars then Ferrari owners. Just because it is capable of something doesn't mean it ever gets used in that fashion.

That is solely based on volume. I'd bet a higher percentage of Ferrari owners set serious laptimes and have serious track setups.

There's a 335 that can pull this somewhere, so what?

There is no real comparison here. An M3 or 335 or whatever isn't on a 458's level and all this comes down to is natural aspiration vs. forced induction and the 458 powerplant is a much more impressive example of an NA V8 than the S55 is a turbo I6.

really all the 458 had to do was close the $#@!in' window and it would have walked. Judging by the video, the 458 was reeling it back in (even with its window down and an extra passenger), but it's nice that the M3 was that close to it.
