    2017 Cadillac CTS-V vs. tuned BMW F13 M6 Competition Package S63TU

Another GTBored video showing a BMW crushing its opposition. It is not hard to believe that a tuned M6 Competition Package will pull away from a CTS-V but this is not even a race. The starting speed is 80 kph (50 mph) which favors the BMW.

For whatever reason, Cadillac CTS-V's are never shown doing well in these videos. The LT4 V8 is a stout mill and with bolt ons can easily dispatch tuned S63TU's.

The HCP tune on the M6 no doubt is solid but it would be great to see a tuned CTS-V and an actual race for once and not just an M car putting instant bus lengths on whatever they put next to it.

This video feels like a marketing piece for the tuner more than anything else.

I would say mid-120mph traps out of a stock 4-door sedan is pretty fast. If nothing else they are still faster than stock M5/M6's.

the 2016+ are quick for a stock car, I only see one on drag times that's stock trapping 124. Tons of them trapping in the teens though. I've never been impressed with stock ctsV's around town or at the 1/2 mile strip seems they are always slow for the claimed HP.

i see tons of stock 2013+ M5 and M6's trapping 122-123mph on drag times so I don't think your statement is on point.

122 isn't a slow car to me in stock form.

The stock motor will make 1000+ whp. I think that's awesome.

With good air, sure. Heck, there are even many examples of stock V2's running sub-12 second slips at 120+ MPH. There are also plenty of them running 13 seconds at 110mph.

Show me a slip. Fastest I've seen is 122.

That M6 is moving pretty good. Probably a high 120's mph trap car.

I will look for the 126 trap car. Here is a 2016 V3 with radials. All trap speeds in excess of the fastest you have ever seen:

Here is a reply in a thread from ctsvowners that eludes to "most stock V3's are trapping 125MPH. You can also see there are a few that aren't even hitting 120MPH traps. It's like any other car. You will find a range of times that varies based on the car, the driver and track conditions.

The computer controls everything and these cars will never run any faster without a tune. Timing is pulled from so many places it's ridiculous. But I'm still confused as to why such a difference with these 3 cars..... Was there a different tune in the, from the factory? Be interesting to compare tunes from one of those cars and one of the several cars that have run 125 mph

It comes up for you because you are logged in on the CTS-V forum. They do not allow hotlinking so it only shows for you.

    Here is the thread: http://www.ctsvowners.com/forum/152-...k-outting.html

Four slips from the same car with traps ranging from 123.05 - 125.01 MPH. Same track, same day.

Problem is I can't click the pics to see them.

I also can't log in or register because the forum has a database error.

So if you could save the pics and upload them...

    Yeah, that's a nice run.

    125 trap is no joke.
